Roller
Blinds
We specialise in creating
roller blinds in customers’ own fabrics (either
by laminating or processing fabrics). We also make roller
blinds from our pre-stiffened fabric ranges.
All our roller blinds
are available as spring rollers with a centre cord and
wooden acorn pull or with sidewinder chain mechanisms
with white plastic, chrome or brass chains. We recommend
fitting sidewinder mechanisms to particularly wide or
long roller blinds or when using thicker/heavier fabrics.
There is no extra charge for sidewinder mechanisms.
Electrically operated
roller blinds are also available. Please contact us
for further information.
Roller blinds are available
with a range of base shapes
which can be trimmed using one of our standard trims
or one supplied by the customer.
Laminated
Roller Blinds (click for prices, encrypted) are made by laminating a stiffened
backing cloth, either standard or blackout (white or
cream) to the face material. This method is particularly
suitable for glazed chintz, silk, moirés, synthetics,
loosely woven fabrics and any material that has joins
for wide blinds. Any fabric that has been treated for
stain resistance or fire retardancy needs to be laminated.
It is not suitable for fabrics with a high synthetic
content.
We also make double-sided laminated roller blinds, ie
with a face fabric on the front and reverse of the blind.
Base shapes and/or borders to the base & sides can
be applied to laminated roller blinds.
We are very happy to test laminate customers’
fabric samples.
A
Processed Roller Blind (click for prices, encrypted) is created by stiffening
the face fabric with a special silicone solution. Processing
is most suitable for voile, lace and untreated cotton
& cotton mix fabrics. It is not suitable for silks,
fabrics with a high synthetic content or fabrics with
metal threads in the weave.
It is not possible to join processed fabrics, so blind
sizes must be within the fabric width (unless the fabric
can be ‘railroaded’).
We are happy to process extra wide fabrics up to a maximum
width and drop.
Base shapes and base borders can be applied to processed
roller blinds.
We are very happy to test process customers’ fabric
samples.
Plain
Roller Blinds (click for prices, encrypted) are made from one of our pre-stiffened
fabrics - Swedish Plain, Scottish Holland, Sheers or
Poly Blackout which are available in a wide range of
colours. Specialist sunscreen and flame retardant fabrics
are also available.
